Bodybuilding and Hair fall

Article 1:
There have been many opinionated studies that show the link between excessive bodybuilding and hair loss. They claim working on your body reduces your hair volume. After a lot of research the facts and fiction have been discovered. Here are the truths and myths regarding bodybuilding and hair loss:
Causes of Hair Loss in Bodybuilders:
The primary cause of hair loss is high levels of DHT. DHT is the by product of testosterone. The more testosterone you have the higher your levels of DHT. In bodybuilders most try to increase testosterone by taking supplements and injections. With the increase of testosterone the DHT levels increase and cause thinning hair and balding.

Those who are only taking supplements are not particular l yat risk. The increase of DHT from the increase of testosterone is not high enough in levels to cause balding. However, those who are going to lose their hair genetically may find that they are losing it quicker because of the increases. So even if you gain the muscle mass you want, you may lose the hair that you love.
Many theories have circulated through the gym masses stating that bodybuilding alone causes baldness. This is not true. Just working out naturally with no supplements, steroids or injections will not cause bald ness. These stories for the most part were created by bodybuilders that were juicing and didn’t want anyone to know.
How to Slow Balding:
If you are noticing your hair thinning but don’t want to give up your supplemental diet, there are a few things you can do to slow the thinning. By adding to your diet and following a few changes in your daily life you can continue to build muscle without sacrificing your hair. Here are a few ways to slow your hair loss:
Proper Hair Care:
So many times we fail to properly maintain our hair after all, we are men. Properly caring for your hair will keep it on your head. Try using hair care products that have fewer chemicals. Excessive washing with harsh chemicals will remove the natural oils on your hair and cause damage. Don’t roughly comb or brush your hair, as it can also damage your strands and follicles.
Diet:
Just as your body needs a healthy diet to grow, so does your hair. You are probably already on a high protein supplement so be careful not to over due it. Your hair needs protein to grow but high levels can damage your hair. Vitamins, minerals, and good fats are also important for hair growth. Be sure you are giving your body and hair all the nutrients needed to keep them healthy.
Avoid Testosterone:
This may seem to be a contradiction to your goals but high levels of testosterone will cause your hair to fall out. Using supplements won’t cause too much damage as your muscles will use most of the extra testosterone, however injections and steroids will harm your hair, not to mention your health. If the more popular side effects of steroids isn’t enough to keep you away from them then perhaps hair loss will. Do your body and hair a favor and don’t use.
Avoid Stress:
Working out is a great stress reliever and less stress means more hair. If you find your stress levels high, take some time to relax. Stress causes hair loss however, if you reduce stress you can reverse that loss. Meditation and relaxing is key to stress reduction.
Whether you want to believe that bodybuilding causes hair loss, or you want to believe there are outside factors, there are ways of reducing damage. You can have the best of both worlds by working out your body and keeping your head full of hair. Keep your body in shape and avoid any harmful decisions that will affect your health and hair.

Article 2:

Weight lifting can cause an elevation in testosterone levels. Most body builders know that increasing testosterone levels helps improve power, strength and endurance. This is actually how steroids work. Increasing testosterone has a positive effect on training performance but it can have a negative effect on hair growth.
Testosterone is a male hormone but it is also present (in lesser amounts) in women. Generally speaking the more testosterone in the body, the more extreme the male characteristics will be. If you look at a bull and a cow, the bull is far more muscular and far more aggressive. Both bulls and cows have the same diet. The difference is the bull has far higher testosterone levels.
DHT: a by-product of testosterone
It’s clear that men tend to experience hair loss more so than women. That is because men tend to have more testosterone in their body’s. DHT is a by-product of testosterone. In general, as we age, more DHT is produced from testosterone. DHT seems to cause hair loss and also body hair growth.
Some people’s hair is more susceptible to the effects of DHT than others. Some people’s body’s tend to produce more testosterone than others. Some people will experience more of an elevation in testosterone as a result of starting a weight lifting/body building routine, while others will not experience much of a change. And some people seem to produce more DHT from testosterone than others.
So in answer to your question:
Yes, weight lifting or body building may cause an increased rate in hair loss, IF you are one of the people who is both susceptible to the negative effects of DHT and your weight lifting/body building routine results in an increase in testosterone levels.
From what I know about body building, most people who work-out hard will experience an increase in testosterone but not a massive one. In fact there are many things that cause elevated testosterone levels.
For example, a study discovered that men whose football team won a match had more elevated testosterone levels after the game than the supporters of the losing team. This study shows that the mind is a key controller of hormonal balance and this is one of the key parts of my hair loss eBook.
It shows that it is possible to control your hormonal balance if you are able to take greater control of your mind and your feelings.
In conclusion
It’s my opinion that you don’t need to worry about the effects of body building on your hair, unless you are taking supplements that are designed to increase your testosterone levels. I don’t even need to say that you shouldn’t be taking steroids if you want to be healthy.
If you’re taking steroids and you are one of the millions of people whose scalp is sensitive to DHT you will probably notice an increase in hair loss. Just don’t take them.
However if you’re not taking steroids and you’re working out pretty hard you should be OK, providing you’re following the instructions in my eBook – and so keeping your mind in the right place, keeping your body working at super efficient levels and keeping your scalp clear and free of DHT.
I work out as often as possible – about three times a week and I hit the weights quite hard. I’ve got a pretty muscular body – in fact I’m in great shape – low fat levels, good muscle tone. But I’m highly aware that with exercising and weight lifting you can do things the same way as everyone else or you can use your intelligence to get ahead of the game. And I’m fortunate enough to know about nutrition and how to gain the most benefits from food.
I hope this helps. Thanks for your question.
